The dash diet was originally created as a dietary approach to stop hypertension (high blood pressure). In addition to reducing blood pressure the dash diet has also been found to be effective at reducing overall weight, body fat and cholesterol.
When switching to the dash diet it may be a struggle to find recipes for regular meals, this is especially true for snacks. Most commercial snacks have a high salt, sugar and fat content which will make them unsuitable for the diet.
